Hi! My name is Nicola and I am the owner of Level-Up Learning.
I completed my HSC in 2017, with my marks consistently in the top bands and an ATAR of 91.85. I then commenced my undergraduate degree at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) in 2018, graduating at the beginning of 2021 with a Credit in the Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and International Business.
During the three years of my course, I was very fortunate to be offered a position tutoring under the guidance of a highly respected teacher. I also began teaching dancing at a primary school a few days a week, which I still do and love. It was during this time that I developed a strong love and passion for teaching and I decided that this was the career path that I wanted to pursue.
So, in 2021 I applied and was accepted to complete a Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education, with a double major in HSIE and Mathematics, at UTS. In my time completing this degree, I have had the great opportunity of learning so many invaluable skills that I apply to my tutoring and teaching.

In terms of experience, I worked as a relief teacher at an independent high school in Sydney's south-west for the entirety of 2023, completing three blocks covering extended absences of teachers during this time as well. This experience was extremely beneficial in shaping my teaching style and equipping me with a plethora of skills and resources which I will use in my career.
At the beginning of 2024, I was offered a full-time contract teaching Mathematics at another high school in Western Sydney for Term 1. During this, I was extremely fortunate to work under the guidance of very experienced and supportive mentors that gave me the ability to professionally grow and further develop my skills in the classroom, as well as planning and delivering my own lessons, designing assessments and marking them. I was also able to partake in multiple professional learning courses that further equipped me with skills and knowledge for differentiation, and understanding the needs of diverse learners with and without identified needs.

I graduated from my Masters in Teaching in 2025 and have now obtained a full-time, permanent position as a mathematics teacher at a private school in Sydney's west.
I have been tutoring for 6 years and during this time, I have developed my own unique teaching style and practices which have been proven successful and effective. I am continually learning and growing with my students and having aligned goals that I can help my students reach is extremely rewarding, which is why I love my job!
